BACKGROUND In the country of East Skillia it was common for non-human races to be kept as slaves in mines or noble housing, and as a tiefling Dantalion was no exception. In his youth he was initially a worker in the aforementioned mines, doing small tasks until he grew old enough to take on the more stressful manual labor. But always perceptive of those around him he soon noticed that those who behaved well and seemed to learn quicker were occasionally taken from the dangerous conditions of the mine and moved into private homes as servants... A position that would give him the opportunity to not only have a better life, but possibly even escape. By the age of 16 Dantalion managed to earn such a transfer and was placed in the house of a noble family and assigned to be a housekeeper. He was also beginning to learn that he was quite adept at acting and coercing others to do what he wanted and began to get into the good graces of as many of the household guards as possible, going so far as seducing any that he could manage as well. It was during his time at the house that he began to secretly read books from the house’s library and was subsequently contacted by the being that would become his patron. The being he came to know as the Elder Eye promised him power and freedom if he showed that he was worthy by formulating his own escape and agreeing to seek out knowledge for it in exchange. Danny leapt at the chance, killing much of the house's staff and then setting the building ablaze to make his escape. Once in the free world the tiefling worked hard to completely create a new image for himself- covering his marks of slavery, growing out his hair, and choosing a name for himself from a book on demon lords that he found. He then began to move about East Skillia and the neighboring countries, taking work where he could but mostly making money by seducing and/or manipulating anyone he could. While accumulating a questionably respectable living he was also seeking out knowledge as lead by his patron, collecting rare magic tomes and studying ritual magic in order to strengthen the known spells and create his own. After getting in the good graces of the cult of his patron and a well-renowned arcanist he eventually managed to get several books published. He has since become the subject of many rumors ranging from supposedly being a cult leader to simply being another crazed and wayward summoner with delusions of grandeur.
